In the last 10 years, Campbell has been involved in some 25 acquisitions in the telecoms and technology industry. He has also undertaken detailed analyses of three-times that many companies and high-level reviews of many more. In short, he used to assess and buy businesses for a living and has a unique M&A perspective from the buy-side. As well as numerous successes that inform the M&A advice Campbell offers, there have been plenty of failures too, from which he has learned plenty about “what not to do”.
M&A Transformation & Integration
As part of this M&A expertise, Campbell has managed transformation and integration teams and has years of experience via multiple restructures, disposals, revenue- and cost-synergy realisation, systems roadmapping, process reengineering and strategic realignment. Very few people have such a rare history and skill-set, meaning that Sunfish is uniquely placed to provide both “a buyer’s guide to buying and selling businesses” as well as practical, hands-on help with post-transaction integration.
M&A Advice - Sell-side and Exits
In addition to his buy-side experience to share, Campbell has also led or worked on numerous successful fundraises, covering both equity and debt. At Six Degrees, for their successful exit, he was content lead for the teaser, information memorandum and management presentations, as well as leading the Commercial Due Diligence and Technical Due Diligence exercises with EY as part of Vendor Due Diligence. All this sell-side expertise is available to Sunfish clients too. Campbell’s heritage spans both private equity-backed businesses and AIM-listed companies.
